How does my son or daughter get set up with an Academic Coach?Have your son or daughter contact the Center to make an appointment. He or she can stop by the office in STU 311, fill out the form on our website, email kortschakcenter@usc.edu, or call (213)740-7884.

What are the hours of the Center?M-F, 8:30am-5:00pm

Does my daughter or son need to have a documented disability to utilize the Center?No.  All students are welcome. To utilize the center, all students will need to have a short assessment by the KCLC staff. It will also be determined if KCLC services are right for the student or if other academic support services at USC are more appropriate.

Does the Center work with graduate students?The Center’s primary focus is undergraduates but occasionally graduate students utilize the Center as well.

How can an Academic Coach assist my son or daughter?Each student has different needs but Coaches most often assist with providing organization, motivation, goal-setting, reflection, self-regulation, time management, study skills, outlining and insight into learning strengths. Coaches can assist greatly with providing structure and accountability.

How long can my daughter or son utilize an Academic Coach?A student can utilize a Coach throughout their whole time at USC as needed.  Some students meet with their Coaches once or twice a week while others may need only one or two meetings to get started on the right track.

Is there a special admissions process for undergraduate students who learn differently?No.  Undergraduate admissions inquiries should be directed tohttp://www.usc.edu/admission/undergraduate/.
